Constructed in 1995 the Baldwinsville Public Library is handicapped accessible in accordance with the Americans With Disabilities Act.
Sign Language Interpreter Service
Patrons attending library programs who require a sign language interpreter should make their request two weeks prior to the date of the event.
Large Print & Audiobooks
The library has a collection of large print books and audio books for adults and children. In addition patrons who qualify may register for the Library of Congress Talking Books Program. Click here for detailed information and application forms.
Closed Caption Video
The video collection includes closed caption videos for people with hearing impairment and described videos for people with visual impairment.
Large Print & Speech Recognition & Magnifier Computer
The BPL has a large type computer with access to the Internet and the library catalog. This computer features an adjustable type magnifier as well as speech software, large print keyboard, and large screen for viewing print materials.

3D Library Tour
Access the Tour. In 2021, the library created a 3D tour of the building including landmarks and highlights. This tour can be used for trip planning, or to locate a collection in advance of using the library, among others.
Accessibility Widget by UserWay
The Library Website uses an Accessibility Widget that can be accessed by clicking or tapping the accessibility icon on any page of the website. The Widget offers many options to improve accessibility based on the visitor’s needs. Depending on which options are selected, text can be enlarged or the colors changed for improved readability, images can be hidden, links can be highlighted, the cursor can be enlarged, and many other options. This widget uses AI to deliver the service. User data is anonymized.
NYS P08-005 & DOJ ADA Title II and III Compliance
The library contracts with several vendors to provide digital content and resources. New York State’s Policy P08-005 “Accessibility of Information Communication Technology” and the Department of Justice’s Americans with Disabilities Act Title II and Title III require library oversite of vendor product accessibility for compliance. The library provides links to our vendor’s documentation on accessibility of their platforms and content. The library is required to be in compliance with State regulations by April 2027 and federal regulations by January 2027.
