Seed Library

Overview
The Library accepts and distributes seed packets and dried seeds. Commercial and heirloom flowers, herbs, fruits, and vegetables are accepted at the circulation desk. A seed donation form is required for any self-dried seeds being donated. The form asks for the following information: Common Name of the plant, variety, latin/scientific name, year of harvest, notes/instructions, and who the seeds were donated by. A handy guide about where to find this information on a standard seed packet can be viewed at the Seed Library to the right of the circulation desk on the pillar. Brochures about seed harvesting, saving, and storing are also available at the Seed Library.

Stay tuned for the launch of the garden shed drop box where seeds can be donated without stopping at the desk!

Gardening Lectures
Check the Library’s Program Calendar for upcoming gardening lectures which are presented by experts throughout the year!

EV Charging Stations

ChargePoint Station Information
The library’s ChargePoint electric vehicle charging station is located in the lower parking area, right side of the lot. Our units are ChargePoint CT4020 Level 2 charging systems, part of the CT4000 series, one of the most widely used Level 2 chargers across North America and a key component of ChargePoint’s network of more than 211,000 activated stations serving over four million EV drivers.
Patrons can use the free ChargePoint app on iPhone or Android to locate the station, view availability, and monitor charging progress. The app integrates with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, Apple Watch, WearOS, Siri, and Alexa, allowing you to manage your charging session from whichever device you prefer. The station uses a standard SAE J1772 (Type 1) connector and bills energy usage at $0.25 per kWh (subject to change, for current pricing, visit the ChargePoint station listing).
Please note: parking in the charging space without actively charging incurs a $5.00 fee, and a $0.99 session fee applies only when using a contactless credit card without a ChargePoint account.
To explore other ChargePoint locations, visit driver.chargepoint.com

How to Use the Charging Station
To use the station, download the ChargePoint app from the Apple App Store or Google Play Store and create an account. Add a payment method to enable “Tap to Charge” with your phone. You may also start a session using an RFID card or by tapping a contactless credit card.
Begin charging by tapping your phone or card at the station, remove the connector from the holster, and plug it into your vehicle until it clicks. A green indicator light on the station or vehicle will confirm that charging has started. You can check your charging status and progress at any time through the app.
When you’re finished, you can stop the session in the app or by tapping your phone or card again. Unplug the connector (you may need to ensure your car is unlocked before the connector will release), return it to the holster, and ensure your vehicle’s charge port door is closed securely.

Take a Stroll

Stroll Into a Story
In partnership with the Town of Lysander Parks and Recreation and the family of MaryElla Annal, the Library is installing a permanent, rotating picture book, displayed along a path in Lysander Town Park. The book is weatherproofed and divided into pages so that visitors can progress through the story as they walk on the path. This Stroll Into a Story initiative will change seasonally. The first story was installed on April 25, 2026.

Little Free Libraries
The Library maintains two “Little Free Libraries” in the Village of Baldwinsville which are open all year long and accessible on-foot. One is in Baldwin Canal Square and is a miniature replica of the former Library building which was in-use from the mid-1970s until 1995. The other is near the Baldwinsville Visitor Center, down Water Street from Lock 24 on the Seneca River’s southern shore. This one is a miniature replica of the current library building. Both were crafted by Abraham Morelli. For more information about the Little Free Library organization, visit: https://littlefreelibrary.org/.
